Hoedag culti-hoe is ideal for picking and digging through hard soil, slicing through weeds with deep roots. To effectively use culti-hoe begin turning the soil using a chopping motion with broad blade breaking up any dirt clumps and clods. Dig rocks, stones and roots out of your way. Continue working the soil. Next turn the tool over to the rake side begin raking the surface of the soil, this will help smooth the dirt and also help identify any remaining weeds and roots. Make sure the forks dig in by at least half an inch or so. Most weeds sprout close to the surface, so the root structure will usually be very close to the top.
